Crieff-Bennybeg walk (River Earn path)

Around 3 miles (one way)

START – Crystal Factory Shop in Crieff. The Factory being now closed and sold to the Glenturret Distillery, parking at the moment (March 2022) isn’t as easy as it used to be. A couple of spaces before the gates and some parking spaces at the Christmas Shop nearby.
More convenient to do the walk the other way round, starting at Bennybeg (parking spaces).

A must on a sunny day!

Glen Ogle-Ardchyle Burn walk (Gleann Dubh track)

Around 2.5 miles (one way) to the first burn

START – Glen Ogle car park.

Very peaceful walk. Nobody around, just a few sheep on the track to Gleann Dubh.
This is a section of The three Glens Route (13 miles). Great place.

Beinn An t-Sidhean (walk)

5 miles

START – Strathyre Village Shop.

Manageable ascent. A lovely viewpoint and a cool boulder to have a break on the way. Great views over Strathyre and Loch Lubnaig.

Srath a Ghlinne Glen (attempt)

1 mile (one way)

START – Glen Artney car park.

A lot of horses on the track. Managed to go past 5 or 6 but then had an additional 4 guarding the gate. Will try again as the glen looks great. Was told that the track goes for 4 miles, then there is a gate of some sorts, then 2 additional miles before coming to an end.

Gleann Crotha (Balquhidder)

Around 4 miles

START – Track near Tulloch Farm in Balquhidder (30 minutes on foot from the Balquhidder Village Hall towards Monachyle Mhor). Parking spaces for 3 cars at start of the track.

Always uphill but path at the end towards the Stob a bit too boggy at present. Will come again in the summer.
Lovely views over Loch Voil.

North Third Reservoir circuit

3 miles

START – North Third Trout Fishery near Cambusbarron and Stirling. Parking spaces for 4 or 5 cars next to gate. A couple of parking spaces a bit further the minor road, before the bridge.

A fantastic walk! Not that many parking spaces though.
Directions from the Walkhighlands website are very accurate, here.

Stank Glen loop (walk)

5.25 miles

START – Strathyre Forest cabins between Strathyre and Callander. Parking spaces on the left and on the right side of the bridge. Arrive early especially in the summer.

Great loop!
Useful to have directions from the Walkhighlands website (very accurate).
Lovely coffee shop at the Forest cabins.

Garshellach Forest (exploring)

Around 3.5 miles

START – Forest entrance on the road to Cambusbarron/Touch Business Centre (1/4 mile from the A811 turning). Forest entrance is on the right of the road. 3 or 4 parking spaces.

Lovely track! Track seems to stop at burn (too large to cross). Will try to walk from the other side of the burn next time.
Great views of the Forth Valley.
