Ben Lawers quarry

Around 3.5 miles each way

START – Ben Lawers first car park on the left (coming from Killin).

Lovely walk, nobody about! Track to the quarry ends but walking to Glen Lochay/Killin from there (no path) is possible. To explore in the summer.

Innerwick (Path to Loch Rannoch)

First 2 miles (out of 7)

START – Innerwick (free) car park.

Great track, lovely setting.
Track, according to cyclists we talked to, seems to be easily waterlogged. We stopped just before a huge puddle. To walk or cycle (mountain bike) after a dry spell.
Lunch at the Glenlyon Tea Room in Bridge of Balgie is a must. Lovely food with great homemade bread (that you can purchase). Great place!

Glen Beich dam-Rob Roy Way (Killin)

1 mile or so

START – Track leading to the Glen Beich dam (roughly a third of a mile before the dam). Look out for a ‘dam structure’ on the right. This is where we crossed.
Here the post how to get to the start from St Fillans.

Not suitable for bikes! To do after a dry spell because it could be boggy. Lovely to be able to link the two tracks.
Part of a great walk to do from St Fillans to Killin leaving a car at both ends (10 miles or so).

Rob Roy Way (Lochan Breaclaich)-Glen Beich dam

1 mile or so

START – Rob Roy Way track between Lochan Breaclaich and Lochan a’Chaorainn near Killin. Go past Lochan Breaclaich to reach the highest point of the Rob Roy Way, then go down a very short distance and you can cross through heather towards the Glen Beich dam.
Here the post to get there from Killin.

To do after a dry spell, wasn’t too boggy today (August).
The Glen Beich dam is roughly a third of a mile away.
Part of a great walk to do from Killin to St Fillans leaving a car at both ends (10 miles or so). Might be easier to walk it from St Fillans as the Rob Roy Way is clearly visible from the ‘dam structure’.

Achray Farm (lovely ice creams)

Achray Farm, in Brig o’Turk, is worth a visit. Their goat ice creams (until October) are delicious!!
Great walking or cycling destination.
The quickest way to get there is to follow the track next to the Byre Inn in Brig o’Turk (see below).
To cycle from Callander, follow the Invertrossachs Road, take a right turn after around 4 miles (signposted Loch Drunkie), then another right turn further at junction towards Brig o’Turk and the Farm.
Great place!

From Brig o’Turk (the Byre Inn).
