WALKING AND CYCLING IN THE TROSSACHS
THIS SECTION goes from the Trossachs Pier/Loch Katrine to car park to Inversnaid. As December 2020, a landslide prevents to go beyond 6 miles. To be continued… Update here (August 2022).
COULD it be the most gorgeous cycle path in the world??? STUNNING!!!
THIS SECTION goes from the Byre Inn to the Trossachs Pier (Loch Katrine car park).
VERY WELL signposted. At the end of the Forest Drive, after the Loch Achray campsite facilities, you have to cross the A821 and follow the uphill path.
THIS SECTION goes from the Glen Finglas Visitor Gateway to the Byre Inn on the A821.
This section follows the Brig o’Turk loop up to the gate that leads back to the A821.
START – at the Ben Venue car park (charge).
GENTLE walk up to the dam. Path barely there after climbing the steps (wet and difficult, but lovely view).
START – at the Glen Finglas Road in Brig o’Turk (6 miles from Callander). Look for the Brig o’Turk tea room. Parking spaces here or at the Dam Road car park a bit further.
GENTLE walk on a tarmac road. Path on the left leads to the reservoir (for the Meall circuit, it’s on the right).
FROM the green hut to the Glen Finglas Visitor Gateway.
Very well signposted.
START – Callander cycle path (route 7).
MODERATE WALK, lovely views.
START – at the Loch Turret dam car park.
To get to the car park from the A85, follow direction to Monzie, then turn left in front of the Hosh Farmhouse. Follow the road (potholes) and you’ll arrive to a gate that you need to open to get to the car park (for around 20 cars).
BREATHTAKING place!
VERY POPULAR with far more ambitious walkers who go on to do a circuit via the Auchnafree Hill.
START – at Glen Ogle (free) car park on the A84, on the right coming from Lochearnhead.
WELL worth it!
RETURN – Retrace your steps, or go straight through a gate back to Killin. You can then join the Route 7 cycle path to Glen Ogle.
START – at the Glen Artney Church (free) car park (see previous post how to get there).
