START – at the Hosh footpath, at junction of the A85 and Glenturret Distillery/Monzie road (Dalvreck). Space for 2 or 3 cars (or park at the Glenturret Distillery).

  • The Hosh.
  • Right here.
  • Glenturret Distillery.
  • Walk towards shop and restaurant.
  • Footbridge on the left.
  • Hydro Activity Centre.
  • Culcrieff Cottages.
  • Main road back to start.

SO MANY SIGNPOSTS! Great place. A lot of paths to explore!

Strathyre short loop (Coille MacCaskill Path)

1.75 miles

START – Village Shop car park in Strathyre.

  • Village Shop car park.
  • Walk towards bridge.
  • Cross the road at the bridge.
  • Right track, behind church.
  • Cairn.
  • Right at junction (Rob Roy Way).
  • Signpost a bit further on the left.
  • Coille MacCaskill Path.
  • Follow path.
  • Left at junction.
  • Bridge.
  • Immediately on the right after bridge.
  • Broch Café.
  • Cross road.
  • Cycle path behind houses.
  • Back to Village Shop.

PLEASANT short walk.

Loch Turret-Comrie (walk)

6 miles

START – Loch Turret (free) car park. Cross the dam wall to find signpost below.

Looking back at Loch Turret.
Braefordie (renovated shooting lodge) in the distance.
Going past little lochs.
First gate.
Second gate.
Ignore left track.
Follow signposts to Comrie.
West Lodge.

EASIER to walk from Loch Turret to Comrie than the other way round (going mostly downhill).
GORGEOUS walk! Two mountain bikers also seemed to have a great time…

Comrie-Loch Turret (walk)

6 miles

START – Golf course car park in Comrie (same start as walk to Comrie Croft).

  • Golf Course car park.
  • Walk into West Lodge
  • Path on the right.
  • Follow blue footpath signposts.
  • Took the left track.
  • First gate.
  • Second gate.
  • Braefordie (renovated shooting lodge) in the distance.
  • Follow path to dam.

FANTASTIC WALK!!!
RETRACE your steps if you haven’t left a car at both ends.
POSSIBILITY to walk to Crieff and take the bus back to Comrie (will try that one day).

Comrie-Comrie Croft loop (walk)

5 miles approx.

START – Golf course (free) car park in Comrie.

  • Car park.
  • Short section on A85.
  • Through West Lodge Caravan Park.
  • Path on the right.
  • Follow signposts!
  • So well signposted!
  • Short section on A85.
  • Right at the Fordie Estate.
  • Left at the end of road.
  • Walk over fence on the left of gate (fence down).
  • Back towards the start.

LOVELY loop. Never seen a path so well signposted!

Loch Mahaick (walk)

5 miles approx.

START – Moray Estates on the A84 (2 miles from Doune). Space for 3 cars at the estate’s entrance (on the left).

  • Take left road.
  • Straight (right goes to the windfarm).
  • Loch Mahaick.

TARMAC road for a mile and good track after that (steep climb at the start).
ENJOYABLE walk.

Strathyre-Stroneslaney loop (walk)

4 miles approx.

START – Bridge in Strathyre (not far from the village shop).

  • Bridge in Strathyre.
  • Left here (school).
  • Look for path on the right.
  • Follow Beinn An t-Sidhean
  • Right at 2nd signpost.
  • Ignore 3rd signpost, go straight on.
  • Left here (right goes back to road).
  • Follow track with barrier.
  • Balquhidder through the trees.
  • Follow track down.
  • Towards Stroneslaney Road.
  • Take right.
  • After around a mile and a half…
  • Back to Strahtyre (bridge).

Could be extended to include Balquhidder and Kingshouse (return to Strathyre via the cycle track). Good walk.
