Trossachs Pier-Stronachlachar cycle (Loch Katrine)

START – Trossachs Pier/Loch Katrine car park (charge). Ben Venue car park isn’t far, could be another option for parking.

Stunning cycle route, definitely one of the best! Return by boat was great. Lovely lunch at the Pier. Perfect day!!!

Aberfoyle-Stronachlachar (cycle)

11. 5 miles (one way)

START – Riverside car park in Aberfoyle.

Riverside (free) car park.
B829 towards Kinlochard.
Going past Loch Ard Forest car park turn.
Kinlochard.
Loch Chon.
Loch Arklet.
RIght turn to Stronachlachar.
The Pier Café.
Loch Katrine.
Sitting outside at The Pier.
Stronachlachar car park.
Great views all around!

The B829 is a fantastic minor road to cycle! The Pier Café is a gem as well!

Callander-Loch Katrine (cycle path)

12 miles approx.

START – at the Meadows car park in Callander (look out for route 7 towards Invertrossachs/Aberfoyle).

  • Route 7.
  • Going past Invertrossachs car park.
  • 1.5 miles from the car park.
  • Take right turn.
  • To Loch Katrine.
  • On the Forest Drive.
  • Going past Loch Achray campsite.
  • End of the Forest Drive.
  • A821 to cross.

SIGNPOSTS all the way.
BEST cycle ride off main road from Callander to Loch Katrine with an hybrid bike. For mountain bikers, The Great Trossachs Path is also an option (see separate posts).
