Dunblane-Ashfield (walk)

3.5 miles (return)

START – Cathedral car park in Dunblane. Great free car park next to the start of the walk (follow Public Path The Haugh).

Lovely walk! Was planning to follow the directions from the Walkhighlands website but the path mentioned on the website is now closed. Will carry on to Kinbuck next time and do a loop.

Kilbryde (discovering)

5 miles

START – Informal car park on road to Argaty, between Doune and Dunblane.

Minor road with few passing places. The minor road goes on for 2 or 3 miles apparently and then becomes a track. A loop can be done via a gated track that leads back to Argaty according to a fellow walker. Will come back to investigate, probably with my bike.

Jerah Woodland (exploring)

Around 5 miles

START – Metal gate on Sheriffmuir Road, near Dunblane and Bridge of Allan. Parking spaces on the left of the bridge.

Stunning scenery!
A couple of walkers told me that the track eventually stops, is a dead end. Didn’t go until the end as it is very remote on your own. Not a smooth track, full of stones.
Noticed a couple of narrow paths on the way (on the left) that go apparently to Colsnaur Hill. There were also a couple on the right leading towards the track to Menstrie (I assume).
Will come back to explore further.
A must on a sunny day!

Darn walk loop (walk)

5 miles

START – Junction between Glen Road and Sheriffmuir Road, near Dunblane.

DARN PATH was very boggy, but gave lovely access to the water. Missed a path behind the golf course that leads back to the start of the walk. Had to walk back from opposite Dunblane’s police station.

Dumyat Hill loop (walk)

Around 4.5 miles

START – Dumyat car park on Sheriffmuir Road, near Bridge of Allan and Dunblane.

GREAT LOOP TO DO!
UPHILL to DUMYAT was busy, downhill to the reservoir very quiet. Lovely contrast!

Jerah Woodland-Lossburn Reservoir loop (walk)

6 miles approx. (3 hours)

START – Metal bridge on Sheriffmuir Road, not far from the former Sheriffmuir Inn (now a private house).

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE WALKS, LOVED IT!
ALTHOUGH the path is sometimes faint, it’s not a difficult walk to do. It’s quite obvious where to go.

Paradise Pools loop (walk)

3 miles approx.

START – Car park on Sheriffmuir Road (very close to the Clan MacRae Memorial).

SHERIFFMUIR ROAD is a great place to walk and cycle!

Sheriffmuir Gathering Stone loop (walk)

5 miles approx.

START – small car park on the Sheriffmuir Road, not far from the junction with Glen Road.

NICE WAY of discovering the Clan MacRae Memorial and the Gathering Stone.
