WALKING AND CYCLING IN THE TROSSACHS
START – Chain Lodge in Doune, on the A84. Parking for 2 cars on lay-by nearby (on road to Deaston Distillery).

Brilliant walk!
START – The Smiddy Farm Shop. Follow the Garden Path from the Smiddy (see previous post).

Great discovery!
There is a gate that leads to the Blair Drummond Caravan Club from the Garden Path (I noticed it on the way back). I followed a narrow path next to what looks like a pet’s graveyard.
Very difficult to park on the Cuthill Brae minor road. They don’t want you there. I was even told by someone from the Caravan Club that the site was closed and to walk back to the Smiddy another way (although there is a signpost from the Caravan Club to the Smiddy).
START – The Smiddy Farm Shop on the A84 between Doune and Stirling. Plenty of spaces to park (and plenty of spaces for lunch or coffee). Nice shop.

Very pleasant short walk. Difficult to get lost as most paths seem to bring back to the Smiddy.
START – Informal car park on road to Argaty, between Doune and Dunblane.

Minor road with few passing places. The minor road goes on for 2 or 3 miles apparently and then becomes a track. A loop can be done via a gated track that leads back to Argaty according to a fellow walker. Will come back to investigate, probably with my bike.
START – Doune Castle car park.

Very pleasant stroll despite the rain. Can be boggy in places.
START – The Blair Drummond Smiddy between Doune and Stirling (on the A873).

LOVELY stroll. A few paths to explore…
2nd visit, here.
START – on the B8032, just after the Bridge of Teith (coming from Doune).

LOVELY flat walk.
MORE INFO here.
START – Moray Estates on the A84 (near Doune). Same start as for Loch Mahaick’s walk.

WILL come back on a sunny day with a bike (despite the steep start)!
START – Moray Estates on the A84 (2 miles from Doune). Space for 3 cars at the estate’s entrance (on the left).

TARMAC road for a mile and good track after that (steep climb at the start).
ENJOYABLE walk.
START – Station Wynd/Springbank Road in Doune.

WELL SIGNPOSTED cycle path.
VERY POPULAR with local dog walkers.
